The Black Knights of Army are set to take on the triple option running game of SUNY Maritime University this Sunday in the Bronx. Game time is at 3:00 pm.
This will be Army’s first test of the 2012 season. This week’s practices have been very intense and positive. Army’s multiple attack offense is sure to put up some very big numbers as the season moves along.
Leading the offense this year is senior QB Javier Sustaita who is looking to improve upon a stellar 2011 season. Senior WRs Cody Ross, John Herina and Cody Nyp will be giving defensive backs nightmares as they try and slow down these superior athletes. Junior Tom Jeffers rounds out the receiving corps for 2012. In the backfield, senior RB Marquis Morris promises to give the fans even more than they bargained for as he is sure to light up the scoreboard time and time again. Sophomore Gabriel Cobb will add some lightning quick moves to the Black Knight ground game. Cobb’s pure athleticism will more times than not, get him out of some compromising jams at the line of scrimmage. On the O-line, seniors Jacob Risinger and Pete Duff will lead the “Dirt Pigs” in an effort to both protect “Javi” and lead both Morris and Cobb to the promised land.
