Pistol-Flex Misconception: More Difficult To Pick Up 1st Down on 4th and 1 or less

The beauty of the Pistol-Flex offense is that it is all-encompassing.  What I mean by that is we do not need a “special” package of plays for short yardage situations.  Our option running game IS our short yardage strategy.  We feel 100% confident running our base play (VEER) in all down and distance situations.  Whether it is 2nd and 12, 3rd and 4, or 4th and inches, we are extremely confident running our base run plays.  WHY?  That is what we do!  We are an option team.  We have repped these plays hundreds of times and we are confident that we know how to get the first down using these plays better than the defense knows how to stop us.  It is that simple.  When your players are confident running certain plays, they WILL achieve greatness!
