Part II
6. Power with Deep Out (20 personnel)
This is our first gap scheme RPO. The fear with Gap Scheme RPO’s is giving up pressure in the blocking scheme. We will run power into the boundary. In order to control the boundary safety we will run a 10 yard out since the CB should be playing inside leverage in invert coverage.
1. Who is the extra run fitter? In this concept we will read the boundary safety. If he stays high we hand off on the power.
2. Are we protected? We are protected with no blitz. We can fit up the 6 guys in the box.
3. What is our blitz answer? If we get pressure, we have built in slants to the field as our hots. We do not want our QB to get hit on a pressure if he pulls for out. This is why the slants are important.

7. Power with Spot to field (20 personnel)
This concept is used to control the field run fitter. We will run a spot route by out #1 WR to the field. Our # 2 WR is blocking the most dangerous threat. We will block the boundary run fitter with our boundary WR.
1. Who is the extra run fitter? In this concept we will read the Sam LB to the field. We do not like using this RPO as much verses 4-2-5 defenses since the field run fitter is the safety.
2. Are we protected? We are protected with no blitz. We can fit up the 6 guys in the box. If they bring boundary pressure on the play we will just hand it off and get what we can with the run. You could put a route backside to beat man defense. We just haven’t on this play because we would rather block the run fitter.
3. What is our blitz answer? If they bring field pressure then we will throw the spot. With boundary pressure we hand the ball off.

8. Zone read with fast motion from TB (20 personnel)
We will quick motion our boundary back to the field to give us a three WR set. Our O-line will block inside zone toward the boundary. The QB will read the Mike and Field Safety. If neither adjusts with the TB motion then we will throw the field bubble to him. If the Mike leaves the box or the field safety comes down hill, then we will read the field defensive end on the zone read.
1. Who is the extra run fitter? In this concept we will read the Mike and field safety during the TB motion.
2. Are we protected? Because this is a zone read and not standing in the pocket to throw a down field pass, the concept protects us.
3. What is our blitz answer? If they bring pressure from the boundary we will fan to it. If pressure comes from the field, we will still read out the TB swing to zone read.

9. Power with Seam/Curl Concept (20 personnel)
This concept is used to control the field run fitter. We are running power to the field. Our field WR’s will run a seam/curl concept. QB will read the field run fitter (Sam LB in an apex system and field safety in a 4-2-5 defense).
1. Who is the extra run fitter? We will read the extra hat in the run fit to the field.
2. Are we protected? We are protected with no blitz. We can fit up the 6 guys in the box. If they bring boundary pressure on the play we will just hand it off and get what we can with the run. Verses field pressure we will throw a quick seam vs. cov 3 or an inside release fade verses press to our field # 2 WR.
3. What is our blitz answer? If they bring field pressure then we will throw the field concept to our #2 WR. Verses boundary pressure we will hand the ball off and get what we can.

10. Inside Zone Lock with Seam Slant Concept (10 personnel)
In 10 personnel 2 x 2 concepts, most defenses will put their will LB outside the box and ask him to have pass responsibility. So in now our box count goes down since we have lost out HB. We can now only block 5 guys so we have to control the 6th run hat. Our OL will block inside zone to the Mike LB with our backside guard and tackle locking out the #1 and #2 defenders on the line of scrimmage. Our field # 2 WR will block the field hat, and our QB will read the Will LB. If the Will LB fits the run, then the QB will pull and throw the slant behind him.
1. Who is the extra run fitter? The Will LB is the extra hat we can not block.
2. Are we protected? We are protected with no blitz since we are blocking the 3 or 4 defensive linemen depending upon the front.
3. What is our blitz answer? If a team is going to bring pressure from their field safety or Sam LB then we will run slants that week by our field WR’s as a hot. Most teams do not pressure 2 X 2 sets with field blitz outside their Mike LB. If the Mike comes he is part of our OL count so we can fit him up. Any boundary pressure then we will hot throw the seam or slant.
