The Mansfield University varsity football team set a Mansfield Sprint record for rushing yards in a game (322) as the Mounties beat Princeton 40-2. In addition to the rushing yards record, the Mountie offense also set records for rush attempts in a game (59) and rush yards/attempt (5.5). Mansfield’s triple option running attack could not be stopped by the Tigers from Princeton. F-Back Josh Harrison led the Mountaineers with 89 rush yards on only 12 attempts. At times, Harrison resembled a bowling ball as he bulled over Tiger after Tiger on his way to the end zone (Harrison scored 2 TDs). Y-Back Chao Porch added to the yardage with 65 yards on only 8 carries. QB Mike Maniscalco added 35 yards on the ground and 1 TD while also passing for 58 yards and 1 TD.
Overall, it was a great day for Mountaineer football!
