It is the duty of the offensive coordinator to ensure that he “sells” his offense to his players. When I say “sell”, what I mean is he must create excitement and enthusiasm around his offense so that his players will buy in 100%. If players do not buy into what you are preaching to them, then the offense is doomed to fail! The coach must show his players what the offensive scheme is all about and exactly “why” it will work if everyone is all-in. Players who enjoy playing in an offensive scheme, will play with more heart and tenacity. A confident player is a lethal weapon in football. It is very important for a coach to introduce the new scheme early so that if changes are needed, they can be implemented sooner rather than later. Always remember, there is no greater motivator, than putting up big numbers and winning the ball game.
